Wynell Davis – (Lori Spinks Mom) asks Prayer for David & Ann Ashley. He has been diagnosed with a fast growing cancer and given 2–3 months to live.

Missy Albritton – Prayer for Lee & Frances Frey; Lee has stage 4 lung cancer (they used to attend our church)

Don Thompson – has had a knee replacement and is in Florida Hospital Wauchula for physical therapy

Betty Taylor’s family – (Curtis’ Mom) Charles has been taken off chemo and hospice has been called in to assist with his care

I just received news from one of our members John Hogue who is currently in Brazil with his family. If you havent heard, Brazil is being pounded by rain and it has caused major flooding in highly populated areas. According to reports, 100,000 are homeless and 1,500 are missing. They don’t know the death toll yet but it is very high. John is headed into these areas tomorrow who have been devastated by the flooding and he is taking food, water and supplies with him. They need as much financing as they can get to help these people with the basics. I am writing our church people asking for everyone to do what they can. For about a dollar we can buy a gallon of water. I will be wiring John any money we collect, tomorrow. This isn’t something that can wait until Sunday. So if you can give something, please bring it by the church office TODAY. VBS is going on so you can give it to one of the Pastors until at least 9 PM tonight. All checks need to be made out to First Christian Church. I have included the email that John sent me earlier today before I spoke with him on the phone. The rains have not let up so the conditions are getting worse. Please pray!!! Pray for those who are hurting so badly right now and pray for John and his family as our link to this tragedy. Let’s come together and help those who need it most right now. It’s time for FCC to step up and make a difference!

Hello,
I wish I was writing under better circumstances, but I have an urgent prayer need. Unusually heavy and presistant rains in the state, in which my family lives, have caused wide spread flooding. Flash floods in about 15 cities has seen many people killed or missing. The official totals for the Civil Defense here are 19 dead, 1,087 missing and over 57,000 people without homes in Alagoas state alone. There are over 86,000 homeless in the neighboring state of Pernambuco and countless dead. It is a horrible situation. The churches here are mobilizing to try to get supplies and clothes to the affected areas. Roads are impassable and a lot of communities they have not gotten to or communicated with due to the floods. Please pray for the people here. I wish there was more we could do, but right now, the best we can do is pray. Please pass this on to whoever you can. I will keep you up to date as soon as I know more.

Kimberly Miller & Selina Ureste- Prayer for their mom (Denise Miller) — she has fast-spreading cancer and will go to Moffitt on Monday to see about chemo — prayer that her platelet level is up enough for them to start chemo right away — prayer for their dad and them as they go through this with their mom UPDATE 6/18 Denise was admitted to Moffitt on Monday, had some chemo and should be home this weekend.

Lisa Manley - PRAISE: 1.) Her mom (Charlene Farabee) — they had a scare this past week — Charlene had a mass in her upper chest — CT scan showed a thyroid goiter — not cancer! 2.) Lydia — no brain tumor. 3.) Donna (Mike’s sister) — surgery went well — she’s pain free from trigeminal neuralgia — she’s getting off her meds and looks great! PRAYER 1.) Charlene still needs prayer for healing for the goiter and wisdom for the doctors. 2.) Lydia needs prayer for healing — they think she has pseudo tumor cerebra, which can be treated with meds — she also has a flare-up of mono which she had in high school a couple of times

April Bryant -  Praise — She’s thankful to God for the countless blessings He has bestowed upon her family over the last few months — she’s  thankful for her son JT; she also thanks God for a mending in her family that has been a long time coming

Stephanie McCullough Helveston – Prayer — she has vertigo and has been sick for 12 days

Janet Gibson – Prayer — she goes on June 14th for more testing concerning a recent mammogram — she is very concerned because she has had 2 sisters die of cancer — also, she is the sole caregiver for her husband who is on oxygen 24 hours a day, so prayer that she can have faith and trust in God that He will take care of her
