Tom,
You hit a tender spot for us in my family. For the past two years, we have taken food to the men that live near car wash by taco bell. I have to admit I was a little timid at first, but the joy that we get out of giving to them is one of the best blessings. This Wednesday in Russell’s class, they were asked questions on how to be a blessing to others and what they want to achieve in life….Russell’s answer was to help the homeless and continue giving to charities and the needy. When he gave me his paper after church, I cried and knew that God was blessing us in my son. Our actons speak so loudly. First Christian Church is making a difference in our lives. Great attitude! We all need that.
The way I figure, Jesus died for every single one of us, rich or poor, not just some of us, so who am I to think more highly of myself.

Thanks T for the reminder we all need. You don’t stand alone, we have all done the same thing. Just last week I stopped to give a homeless man lunch and he stated “thank you so much I haven’t had anything to eat all day”. Thay really hit me hard. I was truly blessed as I took a minute to bless a person that I just felt a need to bless.

The homeless simply want to know if the rest of us are willing to treat them as people, even if they are homeless.
